Chevron Pasadena Refinery personnel receive extensive safety training in their specific duties before beginning their jobs and receive refresher training at regular intervals. Chevron has an entire organization, the Learning & Development Group, with experienced employees focused on training and safety assurance. The Process Safety Management (PSM) group has responsibility for the refinery’s proactive processes designed to prevent release of hazardous chemicals, particularly where exposure to people may be possible.
